Ecology

Recycling and being environmentally friendly is most important in the management of our hotel Casa Santo Stefano. We do use environmentally friendly methods to ensure a pleasant stay for our guests.

Food
For our Bio-breakfast we use local and organic products almost exclusively. The integration of fair trade food products is a high priority.

Detergents
For cleaning and washing we use organic and biodegradable products.

Current
We purchase our electricity from hydropower Ticino.

Water
Our guests receive exclusively fresh drinking water out of the tap directly from Monte Lema. We ask our guests to use it sparingly. We use only special «Aquaclips» which will give savings of up to 50%.

Products / Souvenirs for sale
Our range of products for sale is exclusively organic and comes mainly from the region. All chestnut specialties come from chestnuts from Malcantone and are manufactured here in Ticino. The honey is produced locally in Miglieglia and our large selection of wines comes from vineyards on the steep slopes of Malcantone.

Responsible Tourism
Miglieglia is easily reached by public transport. The excellent Malcantone postbus service provides good access throughout the region by public transport. We will give you the Ticino Ticket that allows you to use the public transport in the whole Canton Ticino for free.
